How I Work
Life Design Coaching Can Help You Create Real, Lasting Success
“I wasn’t sure about Life Design Coaching when I started, but it’s been much more than I expected. I really like the organizing tools you helped me develop. Without my practice of them, I wouldn’t have a created a job I love, an affordable cottage, and a garden that overflows with goodness.
— Ama Valgardsen, Wellness Business Owner, Seattle, WA, USA
Most people don’t fail because they lack talent, time, or resources
They fail because their underlying life structure(s)—organizing frames—do not allow them to move from where they are to where they most want to be.
Much life coaching is focused on problems—what you Don’t Like and Don’t Want—and getting rid of or relief from them. It may make you feel better, yet not consistently move you forward to real and lasting results. It is not likely to change your guiding structure.
Working in the Life Design organizing framework, your guiding structure and actions are vision-driven, reality-grounded. They enable and empower you to focus on what you truly DO want to bring into being in your life, work, career, relationships… whatever.
“When Bruce first talked about “structure,” I cringed. I didn’t want to force myself into a mold. But, no! He meant a framework to help me persist toward results. I became a better photographer and am creating a rewarding life that supports my art. And getting paid!”
S.D. Jones, Photographer, Vancouver, BC
“Shifting from problem-solving to creating was key to me getting my life organized and finding better paid work. Bruce’s “life design framework” and caring personal coaching made it all much easier.”
E.H. Smythe—Single Mom, Calgary, AB
Change Your Structure; Change Your Results
As an artist, I knew structure was important, but had not applied that insight to my life and work. Bruce’s framework made creating films, running my business, and crafting the kind and quality of personal life I longed for much easier, and more effective.
Rod Sturgeon, Filmmaker, Los Angeles, CA
A rocking chair is fine for relaxing. But it won’t take you where you want to go.
Its pieces and parts are put together—structured—so it can only rock back and forth.
In Rocking Chair Structures you oscillate between “I can” and “I can’t,” without completing the results you want to create
You can hire coaches, read books, listen to podcasts, watch videos, attend workshops, and “solve problems” until the cows come home, BUT, if your underlying structure—your organizing framework—does not guide you toward real and lasting results, your efforts will likely be in vain.
With Life Design coaching, you can set up structures that move you toward desired results—and follow through to completion.
Bruce’s approach is like yoga. First you learn the basic moves (structure). Then with practice and coaching help you get better and better. The strength and flexibly you create can be applied to all aspects of your life.
